Saudi bourse opens Thursday in red

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) started Thursday's trading session with a negative performance, after its main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) slid 20.86 points, or 0.25%, to 8,378.97 points.

By 10:43 am Saudi time, TASI’s trading volume reached 22.41 million shares exchanged at a turnover of SAR 525.68 million through 16,700 transactions.

The diversified financials sector shed 1.3%, followed by the food and staples retailing sector with 0.9%, while the capital goods, materials, and banking sectors fell 0.8%, 0.35%, and 0.1%, respectively. 

On the other hand, the consumer durables and apparel sector rose 0.9%, followed by a 0.2% increase in the utilities sector. The telecommunication services edged up 0.05%.

Al Baha Investment and Development’s stock led losers with 9%, whereas Al Sorayai Trade and Industrial Group’s stock gained 4.3%.

Meanwhile, the benchmark index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, decreased 5.15 points, or 0.2%, to 2,766.53 points.

The stocks of Development Works Food (DWF) and Arab Sea Information System Co levelled down 2.5%, and 0.3%, respectively.
