Riyadh-Mubasher: Saudi cement sales increased by 4% in December to 5.8 million tonnes, compared with 5.5 million tonnes in the same month of 2014.
10 out of 15 companies posted growth in sales, topped by City Cement with a 42% rise, followed by Al Jouf Cement and Northern Cement with 36% and 33%, respectively.
Southern Cement captured 14% of the total sales in December.
Production of local cement companies increased by 5% to 5.7 million tonnes in December, led by City cement with 49% to 185,000 tonnes.
Total cement sales increased by 7% or 61.4 million tonnes during the first 12 months of 2015, compared with the same period of 2014.
