Saudi customs revenues rise 12.5% in 2015

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Customs Department reported a 12.5% rise in revenues in 2015, collecting SAR 29.85 billion ($7.96 billion) compared to SAR 27.9 billion ($7.44 billion) in 2014.

Actual revenues grew 9.2% to SAR 26.79 billion of the total sum of customs revenues from SAR 24.5 billion posted in 2014.

In 2015, the government paid SAR 3 billion in the form of imported subsidised goods, contributing to the total customs revenues, down from SAR 3.4 billion in the previous year.

Imports slightly increased to SAR 654 billion in 2015 compared to SAR 651 billion in the preceding year.
