Saudi desalination sector needs SAR112bn to build stations -Official

Riyadh-Mubasher: The desalination sector needs SAR 112 billion to build stations over the next 15 years, said Abdulrahman Al-Ibrahim, governor of the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC).

On the sidelines of the Global Competitiveness Forum held in Riyadh, Al-Ibrahim told Mubasher that this event is a major investment opportunity to boost competitiveness among companies.

"When global companies compete for offering services, we will receive such quality services at low prices," the governor said.

He added that SWCC is participating in the forum to share its broad expertise and offer several investment opportunities.

Saudi Arabia is currently hosting the three-day Global Competitiveness Forum which highlights the importance of innovation and creativity in developing the economic capabilities and integration of investments in different sectors. The event was launched on 24 January.
