Riyadh-Mubasher: Growth in non-oil Saudi exports exceeded triple the amount of global exports growth in the past six years, said Ahmed Alhakbani, secretary general of Saudi Export Development Authority.
Alhakbani noted that the authority seeks to increase further non-oil exports, which currently account for 16% of total national exports.
Based on market attractiveness index, the Saudi authority has targeted a number of major markets in the Middle East and North Africa region as well as Aisia, added the secretary general.
The authority has sought new sectors including chemicals and polymers, construction and building, foodstuff, packing, and consumer products which account for 77.2%, 6.9%, 5.4%, 4.2%, and 2.9% of gross national non-oil exports.
