Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi merchandise exports increased by 18.7% or SAR 12.69 billion year-on-year in December 2017, official data from the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.
The kingdom’s merchandise exports, which consist of oil and non-oil exports, amounted to SAR 80.73 billion in the last month of 2017, compared to SAR 68.04 billion in the same month a year earlier, the GASTAT added.
Month-on-month, merchandise exports grew 1.2% or SAR 981 million in December versus the month before.
Oil exports jumped 19.1% or SAR 9.96 billion to reach SAR 62.11 billion during December 2017, compared to SAR 52.15 billion in the same month a year earlier.
On a monthly basis, oil exports edged up 0.6% or SAR 385 million in December.
Non-oil exports surged 17.2% or SAR 2.73 billion, registering SAR 18.62 billion during December 2017, compared to SAR 15.89 billion in the corresponding month in the prior year.
Month-on-month, non-oil exports increased 3.3% or SAR 597 million.
