Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi general public reserves went down 15.9% in April 2019, compared to the same month a year earlier.
The kingdom’s general reserves amounted to SAR 480.419 billion by the end of April, versus SAR 571.463 billion in the comparative period of 2018, according to the monthly bulletin by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA).
The government current account surged 189.9% year-on-year to SAR 118.794 billion during April 2019, from SAR 40.975 billion in the corresponding month a year before.
On a monthly basis, Saudi current account levelled up 18.9% from SAR 99.845 billion last month, SAMA’s data showed.
Deposits of public funds and agencies at SAMA grew to SAR 111.107 billion in April versus SAR 99.322 billion in the year before.
