Saudi general reserves drop 9% in June –SAMA

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's general reserves decreased by 8.6% during June, compared to the same month a year ago, the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) stated.

The kingdom’s general reserves reached SAR 573.58 billion by the end of the previous month, against SAR 627.36 billion in June 2017, SAMA’s monthly bulletin added.

Month-on-month, the oil-rich nation's general reserves inched up 0.17% in June from SAR 572.61 billion.

The country’s current account value declined 1.35% to SAR 36.56 billion in June, from SAR 36.07 billion in the corresponding month a year earlier.

The value of Saudi current account tumbled 30% last month, against SAR 52.97 billion in May.
