Saudi general reserves shed 20% YoY in February

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi general public reserves went down 19.95% in February 2019, compared to the same month a year earlier.

The kingdom’s general reserves amounted to SAR 483.39 billion by the end of February, versus SAR 579.85 billion in the comparative period of 2018, according to the monthly bulletin by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA).

On a monthly basis, Saudi general reserves declined 0.39% last month from SAR 485.26 billion in the first month of the year.

The government current account grew to SAR 48.3 billion during February 2019, from SAR 28.41 billion in the corresponding month a year before.

On a monthly basis, Saudi current account levelled down 13.4% from SAR 55.78 billion in January, SAMA’s data showed.
