Saudi gold reserves surpass 19m ounces – Ministry

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources estimated the nation's gold reserves at more than 19 million ounces, said Al Eqtisadiah newspaper.

The kingdom's reserves of phosphate, iron, aluminium, zinc, and copper hit about 2.78 billion tonnes, the newspaper reported. 

Phosphate ores amounted to 2 billion tonnes, followed by iron ores which hit 380 million tonnes, aluminum ore with 300 million tonnes, and 1 million tonnes of zinc and copper, according to by the ministry's studies.

There are several locations for rare earth minerals and uranium, as well as large reserves of cement ores, pure silica sand, limestone, ceramic materials, chemical industry materials, ornamental stones and building materials.
