Saudi gov’t enters into SAR 1.6bn facility agreement for water projects

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabian environment, water, and agriculture ministry on Saturday signed SAR 1.6 billion credit facility agreement for desalination projects.

The agreement is aimed at enhancing the exploitation of assets and upgrading the first phase of the Jubail desalination plant and the second phase of Al Khobar desalination plant, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

This step will accelerate the improvement of the quality of water services across the kingdom, Saudi Minister of Environment, Water, and Agricultural Abdulrahman AlFadley said.

The SAR 1.6 billion finance will be used for the upgrade of Jubail and Al Khobar plants through the replacement of technologies used in both plants, he added.
