Saudi imports fall to SAR 38.77bn in February – GASTAT

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's merchandise imports registered a 1.1% decline in February 2018, compared to the same month in the year before.

The kingdom’s imports fell to SAR 38.77 billion in the second month of 2018, down from SAR 39.2 billion in the same month a year earlier, according to the General Authority for Statistics' (GASTAT) report.

Month-on-month, imports shed 0.8% or SAR 318 million, compared to January.

Imports of vehicles and associated transport equipment jumped 41% to SAR 9.5 billion in February 2018, compared to SAR 6.74 billion in the same month in the prior year, the state-run authority noted. 

China ranked first in exporting to the GCC nation at a value of SAR 5.8 billion, followed by the UAE with 5.78 billion.
