Saudi imports hit 4-month high

Riyadh-Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's imports increased by 10% (SAR 5.17 billion) year-on-year in October from SAR 43.4 billion to SAR 57.2 billion, the highest since June when they amounted to SAR 55.1 billion.

The imports grew by 26% compared with SAR 43.4 billion in September.

The total weight of imports amounted to 6.16 million tonnes in October, falling 8% (533,000 tonnes), compared with 6.69 million tonnes a year earlier.

Equipment and machinery accounted for 27% of total imports, followed by transportation equipment with 21%.

South Korea topped importers to Saudi Arabia, accounting for 68%, followed by Germany and the U.S. with 25% and 23%, respectively.
