Saudi indices close Monday on positive note

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Monday's trading session in green territory, after its main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) edged up 1.95 points, or 0.02%, to 8,309.37 points.

TASI’s trading volume reached 158.52 million shares on Monday, up from 144.09 million shares on Sunday, while the market's liquidity rose to SAR 3.9 billion, from SAR 3.65 billion in the previous session. 

The insurance sector increased 1.4%, followed by the retailing sector with 1%, while the energy, banking and materials sectors added 0.6%, 0.17%, and 0.15%, respectively. 

On the flipside, the healthcare equipment and services sector levelled down 1.8%, followed by the food and staples retailing sector with 1.4%. The transportation sector dipped 0.9%.

AXA Cooperative Insurance’s stock was the bourse’s best performer with a 10% rise, whereas Electrical Industries Co's (EIC) stock tumbled 9.4%.

Alinma Bank’s stock was the most active in terms of traded volume after 42.2 million shares were exchanged, generating a turnover of SAR 956.13 million.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, grew 5.18 points, or 0.2%, to finish at 2,768.52 points.

The secondary market’s trading volume hit 26,550 shares on Monday, down from 9,890 shares on Sunday, while traded value jumped to SAR 568,570, from SAR 174,800.

Development Works Food’s stock rose 4%, while the stock of Abo Moati for Bookstores fell 3.9%.

Baazeem Trading’s stock acquired Nomu’s volume and value after 10,500 shares were exchanged with a turnover of SAR 252,810.
