Saudi indices close Tuesday in decline

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Tuesday’s trading activities in the red after its benchmark Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) dropped 31.40 points, or 0.4%, to 8,039.29 points.

TASI’s trading volume reached 184.18 million shares on Tuesday, down from 237.4 million on Monday, while traded value fell to SAR 3.93 billion versus SAR 5.6 billion in the previous session.

The media sector tumbled 5.1%, followed by the food and staples retailing segment with 2.7%.

The utilities sector dipped 2.4%, while the banking segment fell 0.3%.

On the flipside, the consumer and durables apparel, retailing, materials, and telecommunication services sectors increased 0.6%, 0.5%, 0.2%, and 0.12%, respectively.

Al Ahlia for Cooperative Insurance’s stock dropped 5.4%, whereas Nama Chemicals’ stock jumped 9.9%.

The stock of Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development was the most active in terms of trading volume after 56.71 million shares were exchanged, generating SAR 684.39 million in a turnover.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU levelled down 37.35 points, or 1.2%, to finish the mid-week session at 3,068.25 points.

Thob Al-Aseel Company’s stock led losers with 2.1%, whereas Al-Kathiri Holding Company’s stock was the best performer with 4%.

Arab Sea Information System’s stock was the most active in terms of traded volume after 17,410 shares were exchanged, while Development Works Food’s stock topped Nomu in terms of liquidity with SAR 317,750.
