Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Sunday’s trading session in the red after its main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) declined 23.53 points, or 0.29%, to 8,224.94 points.
TASI’s traded volume stood at 206.88 million shares on Sunday, up from 205.34 million on Thursday, while liquidity increased to SAR 4.85 billion ($1.29 billion), from SAR 4.75 billion ($1.27 billion).
The food and staples retailing sector decreased 2.01%, followed by the materials and banking segments with 0.94%, and 0.19%, respectively.
On the other hand, the commercial and professional services sector rose 1.91%, while the telecommunication services sector levelled up 1.02%.
Saudi International Petrochemical Co’s (Sipchem) stock was the worst performer with 5.25%, finishing Sunday at SAR 21.84, whereas Saudi Ceramic Company’s stock jumped 9.93% to close at SAR 23.46.
The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock, which inched down 0.58% to close at SAR 118, was the most active in terms of trading value after generating SAR 669.49 million in a turnover.
In the meantime, the benchmark index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU fell 22.19 points, or 0.68%, to close at 3,229.01 points.
Al-Kathiri Holding Company’s stock retreated 8.14% to SAR 27.55, whereas the stock of Al-Omran Industrial Trading rose 5.88% to SAR 16.94.
