Saudi indices end Sunday in red amid thin liquidity

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Sunday’s trading session on a negative note after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) inched down 3.87 points, or 0.05%, to close at 8,050.88 points.

TASI’s traded value shrank to SAR 2.16 billion on Sunday, hitting its lowest level in 15 sessions, compared to SAR 3.59 billion in the previous session, while the market’s trading volume plunged to 110.92 million shares from 146.05 million on Thursday.

The utilities sector led the decliners after sliding by 1.2%, followed by the media and food sectors which went down 0.98% and 0.93%, respectively.

On the other hand, the transportation sector topped the gainers and added 2.65%, while the telecommunications and basic materials sectors advanced by 0.28% and 0.14%, respectively.

Saudi Arabian Amiantit Co’s stock headed the fallers with 9.97%, while Al-Ahlia Insurance Co’s stock was the top riser after growing by 6.99%.

Moreover, Al Rajhi Bank’s stock spearheaded TASI in terms of liquidity with SAR 273.73 million, while Saudi Arabian Amiantit Co’s stock registered the highest trading volume of 18.28 million shares.

Meanwhile, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, lost 3.93 points, or 0.10%, to close at 3,893.16 points.

Arab Sea Information System Co’s stock was Nomu’s worst performer with 3.1%, while Al Kathiri Holding Co’s was Nomu’s best performer after rising by 1.9%.
