Saudi indices end Thursday mixed

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Thursday's trading session on a mixed performance, after its main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) retreated 38.84 points, or 0.46% to 8,344.39 points, while the parallel market index finished in positive territory.

TASI’s traded volume stood at 138.53 million shares on Thursday, down from 155.63 million shares on Wednesday, while trading value tumbled to SAR 3.25 billion ($867 million), from SAR 3.83 billion ($1.02 billion).

The food and beverages sector levelled down 1.78%, followed by the telecommunication services, banking and materials sectors with 1.56%, 0.61%, and 0.12%, respectively.

On the other hand, the pharmaceuticals sector rose 5%, while the food and staples retailing sector inched up 0.67%.

Allianz Saudi Fransi Cooperative Insurance Company’s stock led losers with 4.59%, whereas Middle East Paper Co’s (MEPCO) stock topped gainers after jumping 8.36%.

In the meantime, the benchmark index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, grew 9.33 points, or 0.3%, to close at 3,091.06 points.

The stock of Abo Moati for Bookstores went up 2.01%.
