Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Tuesday's trading session down after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) retreated 43.46 points, or 0.52%, to 8,298 points.
TASI’s trading volume reached 124.68 million shares on Tuesday, down from 145.68 million shares on Monday, while liquidity declined to SAR 2.57 billion ($684.27 million), from SAR 3.23 billion ($861.3 million).
The utilities sector was the main market's worst performer with 2.46%, followed by the real estate management and development sector with 1.34%. The materials, telecommunication services and banking sectors fell 0.55%, 0.49%, and 0.32%, respectively.
On the other hand, the transportation sector inched up 0.44%, while the media sector rose 0.43%.
Al Rajhi Company for Cooperative Insurance’s (Al Rajhi Takaful) stock led losers, whereas Saudi Enaya Cooperative Insurance Company’s (Enaya) stock was the best performer after jumping 9.94%.
Dar Al-Arkan Real-Estate Development Company’ stock, which decreased by 2.43%, was the most active in terms of traded value after 34.2 million shares were exchanged, with a liquidity of SAR 356.84 million.
In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, shed 0.17 points, or 0.01%, to finish at 3,083.56 points.
Abo Moati for Bookstores’ led losers with 2.61%, whereas the stock of Development Works Food rose 2.86%.
