Saudi indices open Wednesday in decline

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) started Wednesday in the red after its main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) retreated 17.88 points, or 0.2%, to 7,794.46 points.

By 10:51 am Saudi time, TASI’s trading volume reached 27.31 million shares exchanged at a turnover of SAR 601.51 million through 26,650 transactions.

The food and beverages sector fell 3%, followed the consumer services, banking and materials sectors with 1.5%, 0.2%, and 0.13%, respectively. 

On the other hand, the commercial and professional services sector rose 1.9%, followed by the food and staples retailing sector with 1%, and telecommunication services with 0.2%.

Savola Group’s stock was the worst performer after dropping 8%, whereas Middle East Specialized Cables Co’s (MESC) stock was the best performer after growing 5.6%.

Meanwhile, NOMU, the benchmark index of the Nomu secondary market decreased 6.09 points, or 0.24%, to 2,514.08 points.

Baazeem Trading’s stock inched down 0.5%.
