Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Wednesday’s trading session in the green after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) soared 98.5 points, or 1.08%, to 9,238.05 points, registering its highest level since July 2015.
TASI’s trading value rose to SAR 4.8 billion ($1.28 billion) on Wednesday, from SAR 3.46 billion, while traded volume stood at 166.56 million shares, up from SAR 133.3 million on Tuesday.
The banking sector was the best performer after adding 2.03%, followed by the materials and telecommunication services sectors with 0.5% and 0.24%, respectively.
On the flipside, the food and beverages sector was the worst performer after losing 0.79%, and the capital goods sector decreased 0.75%.
Alinma Bank’s stock topped gainers with 4.07%, while the stock of Gulf Union Cooperative Insurance led losers with 4.84%.
Al Rajhi Bank’s stock topped the main market in terms of trading value with SAR 783.2 million, while Alinma Bank’s stock posted the highest traded volume after 15.48 million shares were exchanged.
In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, NOMU, went up 6.36 points, or 0.17%, closing the session at 3,688.95 points.
Baazeem Trading Co’s stock was the best performer with 1.24%, while the stock of Abdullah Saad Mohamed Abo Moati for Bookstores Company led losers with 1.4%.
