Saudi indices start Wednesday in green

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) started Wednesday with a positive performance after its main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) increased 17.68 points, or 0.2%, reaching 8,599.16 points.

By 10:40 am Saudi time, TASI’s trading volume hit 27.43 million shares, through 21,680 transactions, generating SAR 559.3 million.

The capital goods sector topped gainers with 1.3%, followed by the consumer durables and apparel sector with 1.1%, the consumer services sector added 0.85%, materials grew 0.5%, and telecommunication services edged up 0.06%.

On the other hand, the pharmaceuticals sector shed 0.69%, while the commercial and professional services sector fell 0.13%.

Saudi Amiantit Group’s stock was the best performer with 6.3%, while Gulf Union Cooperative Insurance's stock was the worst performer with 1.6%.

Meanwhile, the benchmark index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, rose 1.47 points, or 0.05%, to 2,913.86 points.

Development Works Food Co’s (DWF) stock levelled up 1.7%.
