Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's industrial production index grew 0.75% to 134.25 basis points in the third quarter of 2017, compared to 133.54 basis points in the year-ago period, the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) said in a report released Sunday.
Production in mining and quarries dropped 6.75% to 123.20 points during Q3-17, from 131.51 points in the corresponding period in the year earlier, whereas output in manufacturing industries jumped 21.5%, reaching 164.60 points between July and September 2017 from 135.43 points in Q3-16.
Electricity and gas supply sector output increased 6.11% year-on-year to 181.44 points in Q3-17, from 171 points in the year before, according to the report.
Production in mining and quarries, manufacturing industries, and the electricity and gas supply sectors went up 1.2%, 4.4%, and 32.2%, respectively during Q3-17.
Quarter-on-quarter, output quantities grew 3.06%.
