Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s consumer price index (CPI), which is known as inflation, declined by 1.4% year-on-year in June, according to data released by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
The kingdom’s state-run statistics agency attributed the CPI drop in March to a 7.2% decrease in the prices of housing, water, electricity, and gas group, as well as a 0.7% reduction in telecommunication group.
On a monthly basis, Saudi inflation increased in June, compared to 0.2% in May, data showed on Tuesday.
Inflation rate retreated to 105.9 points last month, from 105.7 points in May.
