Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s consumer price index (CPI), which is known as inflation, fell 1.9% year-on-year in January, registering the first drop in 14 months, the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) reported on Tuesday.
Housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels section tumbled 7.7% by the end of last month, compared to the same period a year earlier, the state-run statistics agency added.
Month-on-month, the kingdom’s CPI levelled down 0.3% in January, reaching 105.9 points against 106.2 points in December 2018.
