Saudi internal trade firms see SAR 48bn surplus in Q2 – GASTAT

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi enterprises operating in local trade sector achieved a surplus of as much as SAR 48 billion by the end of second quarter of 2018, the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) reported.

The number of workers at these companies increased by 23,980 persons quarter-on-quarter, or 1.4%, to 1.69 million in the three-month period ended June, compared to 1.66 million, the GASTAT added.

Saudi workers grow

Quarter-on-quarter, Saudis who are working in domestic trade companies inched up 1,600, or 0.4%, to 434,170 persons from April to June, against 432,580.

Expats’ number levels up 

Foreign workers in Saudi trade sector went up 22,380 persons, or 1.8%, to 1.25 million by the end of Q2-18, versus 1.23 million in the previous quarter.
