Saudi labour minister calls on private sector to raise wages

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi minister of labour and social development has called on companies operating in the kingdom’s private sector to raise employees’ salaries and wages.

Ahmed bin Suleiman Al Rajhi said that a salary increase would help increase employee productivity and act as an incentive for them at work.

Speaking on the sidelines of a business roundtable in Jazan, Al Rajhi said that the Ministry of Labor and Social Development was intent on bolstering its partnership with the business sector to support its growth as well as raise the level of Saudisation within the sector.

The ministry will provide all the necessary means of support the private sector needs in order to enable Saudi citizens in Jazan to reach economic development projects in the city, which in turn will contribute to the Saudi Vision 2030.
