Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has issued 71 new licences in August 2020, down 17.5% on a monthly basis, according to a statement on Thursday.
The capital of the newly-licenced factories amounted to SAR 1.6 billion, compared with SAR 1.15 billion a month earlier. The new entities will employ 2,991 employees.
According to the ministry’s data, the overall number of existing and under construction industrial facilities totalled 9,357 in August, compared to 9,284 in July.
The number of licenced food products factories totalled twelve, while the number of plants operating in the metal forming industry, excluding machinery and equipment, as well as the rubber and plastics field recorded five and six, respectively.
Moreover, the ministry added eight and nine licences were granted to other nonmetals products plants and other manufacturing industries factories, respectively.
