Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's merchandise exports increased by 47.4% year-on-year, or SAR 30.22 billion, during May, the General Authority for Statistics’ (GASTAT) data revealed.
The kingdom’s merchandise exports amounted to SAR 93.95 billion in May, compared to SAR 63.73 billion during the same month a year earlier, GASTAT's figures added.
Month-on-month, the GCC nation's merchandise exports, including oil and non-oil exports, rose SAR 5.45 billion, or 6.2%, in May.
Oil exports jumped SAR 27.84 billion, or 59.1%, to SAR 74.91 billion during May, from SAR 47.08 billion in the same month in the year before.
Oil exports represented 79.9% of total merchandise exports in May, compared to 73.9% during the same month of 2017.
On a monthly basis, the value of oil exports increased by SAR 5.97 billion, or 8.7%, last May.
Year-on-year, non-oil exports levelled up SAR 2.38 billion, or 14.3%, to SAR 19.03 billion in May, compared to SAR 16.65 billion.
The value of non-oil exports made up 20.3% in May, down from 26.1% in May 2017.
