Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's merchandise exports fell by SAR 844 million ($225.4 million), or 1.1%, year-on-year in February, according to data released by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) on Sunday.
The kingdom’s merchandise exports retreated to SAR 77.05 billion in February, compared to SAR 77.9 billion in the same month a year earlier, the state-run statistics agency said.
Month-on-month, Saudi Arabia’s merchandise exports dropped by SAR 7.49 billion, or 8.9%, from SAR 84.55 billion in January.
The GCC nation’s oil exports rose by SAR 105 million, or 0.2%, to SAR 59.37 billion in the second month of 2019, compared to SAR 59.26 billion in February 2018, while dropping by SAR 7.14 billion, or 10.7%, on a monthly basis from January.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s non-oil exports retreated by SAR 949 million, or 5.1%, year-on-year to SAR 17.69 billion in February from SAR 18.64 billion.
Month-on-month, non-oil exports declined by SAR 350 million, or 1.9%, from January.
