Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s merchandise exports jumped 52.5% year-on-year, or SAR 33.59 billion ($8.95 billion), to SAR 97.61 billion ($26.01 billion) in September, from SAR 64.01 billion ($17.06 billion), according to the General Authority for Statistics’ (GASTAT) monthly report.
Merchandise exports include oil and non-oil exports.
The kingdom’s oil exports increased by SAR 28.35 billion, or 55.5%, to SAR 79.47 billion in September, compared to SAR 51.12 billion in the same month last year, the state-run statistics agency added.
Oil exports made up 81.4% of total exports in September, up from 79.9% in the corresponding month a year earlier.
Year-on-year, Saudi non-oil exports went up 40.6% year-on-year, or SAR 5.24 billion, to SAR 18.14 billion last September, versus SAR 12.9 billion.
Non-oil exports accounted for 18.6% of total exports during September, down from 20.1% in the same month in 2017.
On a monthly basis, the GCC nation’s merchandise exports rose SAR 5.59 billion, or 6.1%, compared to August.
Saudi oil exports grew 5.5%, or SAR 4.12 billion, by the end of September, compared to the previous month.
Month-on-month, the Kingdom’s non-oil exports increased by SAR 1.47 billion, or 8.8%, in September.
