Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi merchandise exports have registered a 12.3% year-on-year growth in March, data showed Thursday.
The kingdom’s merchandise exports rose by SAR 8.75 billion to SAR 80 billion ($21.33 billion) during March from SAR 71.28 billion in the year-ago period, according to a report by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
Month-on-month, the value of merchandise exports increased by 4% or SAR 3.09 billion.
It is worth mentioning that Saudi merchandise exports include both oil and non-oil exports.
The GCC nation’s oil exports jumped 15% year-on-year to SAR 62.07 billion ($16.55 billion) in March from SAR 53.95 billion, GASTAT said, noting that these exports represented 77.6% of total merchandise exports in the third month of the year, up from SAR 75.7% in the same period last year.
On a monthly basis, oil exports grew SAR 3.14 billion or SAR 5.3%.
Saudi non-oil exports levelled up 3.6% to SAR 17.95 billion in March from SAR 17.32 billion in the same month in the prior year, whereas month-on-month, they decreased by SAR 53 million or 0.3%.
