Saudi merchandise exports rise 16% in February – GASTAT

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's merchandise exports registered a 16.1% year-on-year growth or SAR 10.67 billion in February 2018.

The kingdom’s merchandise exports, which include oil and non-oil exports, amounted to SAR 76.93 billion in the second month of 2018, compared to SAR 66.26 billion in the same month a year earlier, the Saudi General Authority for Statistics’ (GASTAT) report showed on Monday.

Month-on-month, the value of Saudi merchandise exports fell 8.1% or SAR 6.81 billion, compared to January.

Year-on-year, oil exports jumped 11.2% or SAR 5.93 billion to SAR 58.93 billion in February 2018, from SAR 53 billion in the same month in the year before.

On a monthly basis, Saudi oil exports decreased 11.4% or SAR 7.6 billion.

The GCC nation’s non-oil exports levelled up 35% to SAR 18 billion in February 2018, compared to SAR 13.26 billion in the same corresponding period of 2017..

Ratio of Saudi non-oil exports to total exports increased 23.4% in February 2018, compared to 20% in the year-ago period.

Month-on-month, non-oil exports rose 4.6% or SAR 790 million.
