Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's merchandise exports increased by 20.5% or SAR 14.24 billion year-on-year in January 2018.
The kingdom’s merchandise exports grew to SAR 83.74 billion in the first month of 2018, up from SAR 69.5 billion in the same month a year earlier, the Saudi General Authority for Statistics’ (GASTAT) data showed.
Saudi merchandise exports consist of oil and non-oil exports.
Oil exports jumped 21.1% or SAR 11.61 billion year-on-year to SAR 66.53 billion in January, compared to SAR 54.92 billion in the corresponding period in the year before, while non-oil exports climbed 18% year-on-year to SAR 172.11 billion versus SAR 145.85 billion, the GASTAT added.
On a monthly basis, Saudi merchandise exports rose 3.7% or more than SAR 3 billion in January, compared to December.
Month-on-month, the country’s oil exports levelled up 7.1% or SAR 4.42 billion in January compared to the month earlier, while the kingdom's non-oil exports fell 7.6% or SAR 1.41 billion.
