Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s merchandise imports fell 8.5% to SAR 37.22 billion in November 2018, compared to SAR 40.69 billion in the same month a year earlier, the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) reported.
The decline of the kingdom's imports was attributed to a decrease in machinery, mechanical appliances, and electrical equipment by 16.5%, while imports of vehicles and associated transport equipment levelled down 4.6%, the GASTAT added.
On the other hand, Saudi imports of mineral products jumped 7.1%, while textiles imports rose 4.1%.
Month-on-month, the kingdom’s merchandise imports decreased by 14.8%, or SAR 6.47 billion last November.
