Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's merchandise imports rose 3.3% year-on-year, or SAR 4.06 billion, during the third quarter of 2018, reaching SAR 127.91 billion, compared to SAR 123.85 billion, the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) reported.
China was the largest exporter to the oil-rich kingdom with SAR 21.13 billion, followed by the US and the UAE with SAR 17.44 billion and SAR 11.46 billion, respectively, the GASTAT added.
The Saudi seaports received the largest rate of imports with SAR 77.63 billion, while the GCC nation's airports and land ports saw imports worth SAR 31.8 billion and SAR 18.45 billion, consecutively.
Electrical machinery and equipment imports acquired the largest stake with SAR 26.7 billion by the end of Q3-18, falling 11.2% compared to the prior-year period.
