Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s merchandise imports edged up by 0.7%, or SAR 305 million ($81.33 million), year-on-year during January, data released by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) revealed on Wednesday.
The kingdom’s imports amounted to SAR 41.92 billion ($11.18 billion) in January, compared to SAR 41.6 billion ($11.1 billion) in the same month a year earlier, the state-run statistics agency said.
Month-on-month, Saudi Arabia’s merchandise imports grew 0.1% or SAR 41 million from December 2018.
It is noteworthy that the kingdom’s merchandise exports increased by 0.1% year-on-year, or SAR 53 million ($14.13 million), in January.
