Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi mortgage surged 122% year-on-year in May, according to the Saudi Arabia Monetary Authority (SAMA).
Mortgages granted by banks and financial institutions in the kingdom soared to SAR 5.65 billion in May, compared to SAR 2.53 billion in the year-ago period.
In the first five months of 2019, the value of mortgage provided to Saudi citizens increased to SAR 27.02 billion, against SAR 11.68 billion in the comparative period of 2018.
Saudi general public reserves declined by 16.7% in May 2019, compared to the same month a year earlier.
