Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has reportedly agreed to provide Tunisia with a loan worth $500 million.
The interest rate on the loan has yet to be decided, an unnamed government official told Bloomberg, but added that the loan was part of several deals that were to be announced after in the coming days.
The deals were signed during Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to the North African country, the official added.
Bin Salman commenced a regional tour with Tunisia, which he visited on Monday then followed with a visit to Egypt on Tuesday, during which a causeway linking Egypt to the Kingdom was proposed.
It is worth noting that bilateral trade between Saudi Arabia and Egypt, excluding oil products, reached around $2.48 billion in the first nine months of 2018, data compiled by Mubasher using data by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed. Moreover, Saudi Arabia’s investments in Egypt have exceeded $27 billion through over 5,000 projects.
On Wednesday, bin Salman flew to Argentina to join the G-20 Summit.
