Saudi non-oil exports down 10% in December

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi non-oil exports fell in December 2016 to SAR 14.94 billion ($3.98 billion), versus SAR 16.66 billion ($4.44 billion) in December 2015, down 10.3%, according to a statement.

On a month-on-month basis, non-oil exports were up by 3.8% to SAR 540 million, the Saudi General Authority of Statistics said.

As for commodities, chemical industries products declined 12% in December to SAR 4.53 billion, versus SAR 5.15 billion on a yearly basis.

The authority also reported that plastics and rubber rose by 5.3% to SAR 4.76 billion in December versus SAR 4.52 billion in the same period in 2015.

Saudi non-oil exports to GCC countries decreased 20% in the last month of 2016 to around SAR 4 billion from SAR 5 billion in December 2015.
