Saudi non-oil exports up 2% in April

Riyadh - Mubasher: A recent report by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) revealed that the kingdom’s non-oil exports increased by 1.9% year-on-year in April 2017 to SAR 14.46 billion ($3.86 billion).

Non-oil exports declined by 11.5% month-on-month by 11.5%, compared to its level in March when it registered SAR 16.3 billion.

Chemicals exports also decreased by 1.8% to SAR 3.88 billion in April down from SAR 3.95 billion in the same month of the year before.

Saudi exports to the member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) grew 5.7% in April 2017 to SAR 3.93 billion.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) led the top five importers from Saudi Arabia with SAR 2.1 billion in last April, 8.8% less than its level in April 2016.

China came in second with SAR 1.56 billion, surging by 37% compared to the level recorded in the same months in the previous year.
