Saudi oil exports rise 35% in April

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s oil exports were up 35% year-on-year in April and represented 78.2% of the Kingdom’s total exports, the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) said in a report.

Oil exports amounted to SAR 51.9 billion ($13.84 billion) in April, up from SAR 38.5 billion ($10.27 billion) in the year-ago period, the GASTAT reported.

Last month, news agency Reuters reported that Saudi oil exports had fallen to 7.01 million barrels per day (bpd) in April from 7.23 million bpd in March.

The Kingdom released 9.946 million bpd in April, up from 9.90 million bpd the month before, the news agency said.

GASTAT revealed that the total value of Saudi non-oil exports rose 1.9% to SAR 14.46 billion ($3.86 billion) in April, from SAR 14.19 billion ($3.8 billion) in the same period in 2016.

BP had previously said that Saudi Arabia’s confirmed oil reserves reached 266.5 billion barrels by the end of 2016, equivalent to around 36.6 billion tonnes of oil.
