Saudi ownership on Tadawul soars SAR 580.6bn in August

Riyadh – Mubasher: The value of shares listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) significantly rose during August 2020 when compared to the previous month, led by shares of Saudi investors.

Ownership of Saudi investors hiked by SAR 580.64 billion last month, while that of foreign and GCC investors surged by SAR 14.34 billion and SAR 1.77 billion, respectively, according to official data from Tadawul.

Saudis’ share ownership value leapt to SAR 8.744 trillion in August, compared to SAR 8.163 trillion a month earlier, accounting for 97.40% of issued shares and 85.21% of free shares.

As for foreign investors, the value of shares reached SAR 192.3 billion in August, up from SAR 177.96 billion in July, representing 2.14% of issued shares and 12.56% of free shares.

Ownership of strategic investors soared SAR 3.78 billion monthly to stand at SAR 40.62 billion in August, representing 0.45% of issued shares.

Moreover, ownership of qualified investors hit SAR 138.05 billion last month, posting a monthly rise of SAR 9.74 billion and representing 1.54% of issued shares and 11.67% of free shares.

GCC investors’ ownership hiked to SAR 40.74 billion, accounting for 0.45% of issued shares and 2.23% of free shares.
