Riyadh-Mubasher: Saudi Arabia is seeking a privatization plan for 11 airports until 2020, said a government source.
The plan is set for gradually privatizing sectors and airports related to of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
The privatization process of King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh has started in the first quarter of 2016, under the new name of Riyadh Airports Company which will be administratively and financially independent, Sakhr Al-Mulhem, general manager of property and commercial development said according to Zawya.
The Saudi air navigation sector will be privatized under the name of Air Navigation Services Company (ANS) during the second quarter of 2016, while the information technology sector will be privatized under the name of Saudi Company for Aviation Information Systems, Al-Mulhem added according to Zawya.
The remaining strategic units in international airports will be privatized over five years until 2020, he added.
