Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s population grew 2.52% in 2017, registering 32.552 million versus 31.742 million a year earlier.
Males make up 57.48% of the population, while females account for 42.52%, the Saudi Arabian General Authority for Statistics (GaStat) revealed on Monday.
“The survey contained household data including marital status, educational status, demographic structure of Saudi and non-Saudi population on the level of Saudi administrative regions,” GaStat spokesman Taiseer Almufarrij said.
GaStat has extracted many indicators during the preparation of the survey including mortality, and marriage and divorce rates, along with age and gender structure.
The preparation for 2020 census – which comprises the demographic, economic, and educational characteristics of the population – has begun, the Saudi Gazette reported.
