Saudi ports see 66.3m tonnes of handled goods in Q1

Riyadh – Mubasher: Goods handled in Saudi Arabia’s ports rose 7.6% year-on-year to 66.3 million tonnes in the first quarter of 2019, the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) said in a statement on Monday.

The handled containers amounted to 1.68 million and ships hit about 2,980 with nearly 320,190 passengers, while vehicles reached around 162,070, MAWANI added.  

In mid-April, MAWANI revealed that cargo handling at Yanbu Commercial Port grew 138% year-on-year in Q1-19.
