Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's trade surplus rose 29% year-on-year in December 2018, a report released by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GaStat) showed Monday.
The kingdom’s surplus registered SAR 49.15 billion ($13.1 billion) in December, from SAR 38.14 billion ($10.17 billion) in the same month of 2017.
On a monthly basis, the kingdom's trade surplus retreated 13.8% from SAR 57 billion in November.
Exports of Saudi goods grew 12.5%, or SAR 10.09 billion, year-on-year to SAR 91.03 billion in the final month of 2018.
Meanwhile, Saudi crude exports grew 12.7%, or SAR 7.87 billion, to SAR 69.97 billion in December, from SAR 62.1 billion in the corresponding month in 2017.
On the other hand, imports to the kingdom dropped 2.2%, or SAR 924 million, year-on-year to SAR 41.88 billion, from December 2017.
Saudi Arabia's trade balance surplus jumped 67.3% year-on-year during last November.
