Saudi trade surplus hit SAR 260bn in 10M – GASTAT

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia posted trade surplus worth SAR 259.98 billion during the first ten months of 2017, the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) said on Wednesday.

The Kingdom’s exports hit SAR 668.18 billion in the January-October period, against SAR 408.2 billion imports, the GASTAT added.

Oil made up the largest share of the Saudi exports.

Year-on-year, the Kingdom’s trade surplus jumped 34.63% to SAR 32.93 billion in October 2017, compared to SAR 24.46 billion in the corresponding month in the year earlier.

The Saudi trade surplus inched up 0.25% in October from September.

The Saudi body indicated previously that the Kingdom’s merchandise exports stood at SAR 76.81 billion, against merchandise imports of SAR 43.88 billion in October 2017.

At the level of the first nine months of 2017, the Kingdom’s trade surplus stood at SAR 227.1 billion.
