Saudi trade surplus surges 87% in H1 – GASTAT

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s trade surplus grew by 86.6% year-on-year, or SAR 125.3 billion, to SAR 269.97 billion ($71.99 billion) during the first six months of 2018, from SAR 144.67 billion ($35.85 billion), the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) said.

The kingdom's merchandise exports jumped 32.5% year-on-year, or SAR 129.21 billion, to SAR 526.32 billion in H1-18, compared to SAR 397.1 billion, the state-run statistics added. 

The oil-rich nation’s merchandise imports levelled up SAR 3.92 billion or 1.6% to SAR 256.35 billion by the end of H1-18, from SAR 252.43 billion in the same period a year earlier.
