Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's trade surplus with China amounted to SAR 80.4 billion, representing 23.6% of the kingdom’s total trade surplus that hit SAR 340.9 million in 2017, the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) said.
The oil-rich nation’s exports to China stood at SAR 97.6 billion, while its imports from the Asian state of the world's second-largest economy worth SAR 74.8 billion last year.
In the same vein, the GCC nation's trade surplus with Japan stood at SAR 22.8 billion, making up 6.7% of its total trade surplus.
Japan was the first destination for Saudi exports with SAR 100.4 billion, whereas Saudi imports from the Asian country stood at SAR 19.9 billion.
The OPEC powerhouse’s trade surplus with the US reached SAR 2.3 billion, as Saudi exports to the US hit SAR 68.6 billion, against imports worth SAR 66.3 billion during 2017.
Meanwhile the kingdom’s trade surplus with the UAE reached SAR 23.6 billion, through SAR 5.5 billion in exports and imports worth SAR 31.9 billion.
Total value of the kingdom’s exports stood at SAR 828.9 billion, while its imports hit SAR 488 billion in 2017.
